Tragedy was on Thursday, September 8, averted as a commercial motorcycle caught fire inside a filling station along Toyin street, Ikeja, Lagos. NAIJ.com’s photojournalist, Michael Obasa, who was at the scene of the incident, reports that the incident was brought under control by the church beside the filling station.

“Thanks to the security officers at the church who gave the people at the filling station fire extinguisher when they had exhausted theirs in trying to put out the flames. There was serious scare inside the filling station because of the fire incident as everyone scampered for safety around the place,” he stated. As at the time of filing this report, the fire had been put out, but the tension in the area could still be felt by our photojournalist who was on ground.
