They are responsible to arrange for rigging materials during lifting operations.
They must select rigging to suit the load and install the lifting gears by complying to the lifting plan
They connect and disconnect the load for any lifting operations
They must participate in the TBM
They must ensure that they fully understand the lifting accessories and its functions
They must inspect the lifting accessories before and after use in any lifting operation
They must remove defective lifting accessories from use
They must have an understanding of the emergency procedures relating to lifting equipment they are using.
They must carry out proper housekeeping before, during and at the end of the lifting operation.
Qualifications
Technical School, SSCE, NABTEB.
Riggers Certification
Minimum of 3 years experience.
