FORMER South African president Thabo Mbeki and former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo during a panel discussion Thursaday both expressed deep concern over tension in the relationship between their two countries.

This "bitterness" is as a result of competitive jostling for the pole position of "herald" of the "African growth story" as well as Nigeria Governement's handling of the Synagogue church building collapse which killed over 100 South Africans.
