We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain the company’s database systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high levels of data availability, security, performance, and integrity across all business applications.
The DBA will also be involved in database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization.


Key Responsibilities


Install, configure, and maintain database servers (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or others).
Monitor database performance and implement improvements for optimization.
Ensure data security, integrity, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
Perform database tuning and query optimization.
Design and implement database structures to support business applications.
Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and guidelines.
Manage database access, roles, and permissions.
Automate database maintenance tasks using scripts where appropriate.
Work closely with software development and IT teams to support system integrations and deployments.
Perform regular data backup and recovery testing.
Develop disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal policies.


Requirements & Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3–5 years proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
Hands-on experience with major database systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).
Strong knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
Proficiency in SQL scripting and database management tools.
Experience with database replication, clustering, or high-availability solutions.
Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is an added advantage.
Experience with Linux/Windows server environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server (MCSA/MCSE), AWS Database Specialty, or IBM DB2 are a plus.
