Nothing has quickly proven itself as a tech company worthy of taking seriously, offering high-quality devices such as phones and wireless earbuds at affordable prices with stand-out design. Now all eyes are on the Phone (3), so here’s what we know so far.
The company, led by Carl Pei (formerly of OnePlus), has been one to watch from day one and now has its sights firmly on the big leagues.
It’s been a longer wait for the Phone (3) than is typical for the smartphone market, but that’s not a bad thing in our eyes. Spending longer to get a product right is to be applauded and Nothing looks set to take on the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel 9 this year.
The Phone (3) is shaping up nicely, so here’s what you need to know about its release date, price, specs and more based on official news, rumours and our expert analysis.
Latest Nothing Phone (3) rumour
Following Nothing’s confirmation of the Glyph Matrix, a leaker (not known to Tech Advisor) has posted a long list of specs seemingly confirming the screen tech, cameras, charging and more.

For a while, we only knew that the Phone (3) would launch in Q3 or “this summer”, but we now have the specific release date as 1 July 2025 at 6pm BST (UK time).
Most phones follow a predictable annual release cycle, so with the Phone (1) and Phone (2) arriving in July 2022 and 2023, respectively, it’s not too surprising.
There’s also good news for US fans as Carl Pei has confirmed by replying “100%!” with a US flag emoji to a question on X that the Phone (3) will get a US launch outside of its Beta Program.
The Phone (3) arrives a little while after the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, which is the reverse of how Google released its mid-range Pixel 9a.
In a Device Showcase as part of The Android Show: I/O Edition, Carl Pei revealed some details about the Phone (3) while showing it blurred out.
“Phone (3) is coming this summer, and we’re going all in”, Pei said in the Device Showcase, where he also confirmed the price (more on that in the next section).
We already have the Phone (3a) (below) and Phone (3a) Pro, so perhaps the Phone (3) got delayed a little bit.

How much will the Nothing Phone (3) cost?

So far, Nothing’s main-line phones have seen price increases and that’s not going to change for the Phone (3).
The prices of previous models during their initial launches were as follows:
- Nothing Phone (1): £399/€469
- Nothing Phone (2): £579/$599/€649
Now, in the Android Show Device Showcase mentioned in the section above, Carl Pei has confirmed the Phone (3) price will be around £800, which converts to approximately $1,000.
“And since you’re here, a little early clue on the price, it’ll land somewhere around £800”, said Pei.
This means we’re looking at a price rise of £230. Substantially more than the previous hike of £180, which was also way above average.
It’s not just a case of minor upgrades but a big increase in price, as Pei says it’ll have “premium materials, major performance upgrades, and software that really levels things up”.
However, this means instead of standing out in the mid-range, Nothing is properly shifting to take on the likes of Samsung, Google and others in the premium market.
According to a tipster (albeit not a very well-known one), the Phone (3) will cost $799 in the US for a 12/256GB model and $899 for 16/256GB.

What specs and features will the Nothing Phone (3) have?

Now that the Phone (3) launch is a couple of months away, more details are being confirmed by Nothing and being leaked as well.
Here’s what we know and expect to see from the Phone (3), which is supposedly codenamed “Metroid” and with the model number ‘A024’. This is leaked via Smartprix, which is also the source of various other rumours detailed below. A list of Phone (3) specs has been leaked by Gadget Bits, which affects various sections below, though this leaker is new to us at Tech Advisor, so we’re taking them with a decent pinch of salt.
We’re sure more leaks are on the way between now and the official launch in July.
Design & Build
Previously, the Nothing Phone compromised on build quality in order to meet its price point. With the third generation, we hope to see improvements in protection and durability.
The adoption of newer glass technology – possibly the robust Gorilla Glass Victus – could further enhance the device’s overall build quality.

Fortunately, the firm has promised “premium materials,” though it hasn’t provided any details on what that means just yet. Titanium could be possible as it’s a popular material for rivals like Samsung.
A notable improvement could also be made in the device’s water and dust resistance. Rumours suggest the Phone (3) will come in black or white colourways.
The IP54 rating of the Phone (2) falls short of the more common IP68 rating, found on most flagship smartphones. Elevating to at least IP68 would bring the Phone (3) in line with industry standards.

The Glyph Interface, in a somewhat shocking twist, will be ditched. In a very simple and down-to-line post on X, the company said “We killed the Glyph Interface.” to which Carl Pei replied “RIP”.
Nothing has confirmed it will be replaced with Glyph Matrix. A small dot-matrix display which you can see in action below in the short teaser clip – similar to the Asus Phone 9 Pro.
Some X users have been putting the teaser puzzle pieces of the phone together and guessing the placement of the Glyph Matrix. It’s clear from Nothing’s post that it’s in the corner – seemingly the top-right – but if the below leaked render of the Phone (3) is accurate, then there isn’t space for it near the top of the phone due to the camera module.
The first leaked render of the Phone (3) shows a familiar style design with a few notable changes. For starters, it appears to confirm the old Glyph interface is gone, though it also doesn’t show the above Glyph Matrix (though it could well be invisible until lit up).

It also shows a much smaller camera module, or ‘island’, than previous Nothing devices such as the Phone (3a) Pro, which has a huge camera bump, though admittedly bigger than the Phone (2), which just had two cameras neatly placed in the corner.
Finally, the render shows an additional physical button compared to its predecessor. Now with four, matching the (3a) Pro, suggesting the Phone (3) will also get the Essential Key – a sort of AI screenshot tool.
Nothing’s teaser of the design only shows a small part of the back (a more zoomed out version of a previous post) and does appear to roughly match the bottom part of the above leaked design. It effectively confirms that Nothing is moving on from the transparent design.

Screen & Speakers
We don’t expect many changes to the display on the Phone (3) compared to its predecessor.
The Phone (2) has a 6.7-inch OLED panel that can refresh at up to 120Hz and uses LTPO tech to scale that refresh rate right down to 1Hz when not needed, to save battery.
Its weakest attribute is brightness, with an outdoor panel average of 1,000nits and peak brightness of 1,600nits, falling short in real-world use. As such, a brighter panel would be welcome on the Phone (3).
A leaked list of specs suggests the device will get a screen the same 6.7-inch size with a 1.5K resolution and OLED panel with LTPO tech for dynamic refresh rate.

Improving sound quality and internal speakers would also contribute to a more satisfying audio experience, even for those who primarily use Bluetooth earbuds.
Nothing might have its own Ear (2) earbuds, but you don’t want to have to use them all the time.
Forget rumours, Nothing has been drip feeding information and teasers about the Phone (3) and has decided to confirm ahead of the launch event that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor.
Now, the 8 series is flagship level, but the 8 Elite is the top-tier chipset so the news was received with some grumbling and criticism. However, this is Qualcomm’s latest chipset and the firm has defended its decision.
CEO Carl Pei pointed out that this it the first time a Nothing phone has come with a current-gen chipset (the 8 Elite 2 is set to arrive in September), and co-founder Akis Evangelidis replied to one X user asking why not choose the Snapragon 8 gen 3, pointing out how the 8s Gen 4 is better.
Apart from performance, it makes a big difference with software support (often a hidden or forgotten part of chipset selection), meaning the Phone (3) is confirmed to get five years of OS updates and seven years of security. The latter matches Samsung and Google’s class-leading support.
We could also see an upgrade to 12GB of RAM, no matter what storage capacity you choose. Both NFC and eSIM are tipped for the phone.

Cameras
Upgrading the camera setup would also be welcome. In particular, Nothing could introduce a better primary sensor and address issues with the ultrawide.
Low-light performance, colour reproduction, and reduced shutter lag should also be priorities for the Phone (3).
Furthermore, a periscope telephoto camera seems all but certain when you consider the Phone (3a) Pro has a 50Mp shooter with 3x optical zoom.
A big leak for the Phone (3) states that the phone will get a big camera rework with a triple-lens array on the rear, including a large primary sensor and potentially a bigger periscope telephoto lens.
The leaked render mentioned in the design section above also seems to confirm there will be three rear cameras. Here it is again.
Another rumour gives more specifics on the phone, suggesting all three rear cameras plus the front camera will be 50Mp in resolution.
These will consist of a main rear camera alongside a 3x periscope, ultrawide and front camera.

Battery & Charging
The Phone (2) features a sizeable 4700mAh battery, with support for 45W wired fast charging.
It’s likely that Phone (3) will receive similar treatment, as that still places it above more premium phones like the latest iPhones, Galaxys and Pixels.
Of course, a larger battery is always welcome and should be possible without making the phone any bigger if Nothing uses Silicon Carbon technology (SiC).
Once again, we can look to the Phone (3a) Pro for a good idea of the bar for the flagship (3), and that phone has a 5000mAh battery and 50W, so it wouldn’t make much sense for it to be any smaller or slower.
The leak we’ve been referring to a lot in this article reports that the battery will see a marginal increase and might even go over the 5000mAh capacity.
A more recent leak suggests the phone will get a 5150mAh battery with 100W wired charging, as well as wireless charging and reverse wireless charging although speeds are not mentioned for those.

Software
The Phone (3) will most likely arrive running on Android 15 and Nothing OS 3 out of the box. One leak suggests it will specifically be Nothing OS 3.2.
As Pei said back in June 2024, the Phone (3) will be at the centre of the company’s AI efforts. Therefore, we can expect lots of AI features, even if the specifics haven’t been revealed yet.
The leaked internal email in January 2025 also mentions “breakthrough innovations in user interface” as part of an “AI-powered platform”.
A recent leak tips the Phone (3) to come with Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15.
