Manchester United have not made any contact with Jose Mourinho regarding the head coach role, Super-agent Jorge Mendes claims. The 52-year-old is currently out of work after parting ways with Chelsea last week.


It had been widely speculated that manager Louis van Gaal will be relieved from his duties following a run of six games without a win in all competitions.

However, things have remained as it is, and the Dutchman looks set to take charge of United at Stoke City on Boxing Day.

Mendes has now revealed that there has been no agreement between United and Mourinho over the managerial post.

He added that his client has yet to receive a formal approach of any kind from the Mancunian giants.

Nevertheless, Mourinho is considered the front-runner to take over from Van Gaal, who faces a must-win game at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
