Oppo is refreshing its popular Reno line with two new models ? Reno12 and Reno12 Pro ? which are the first to feature a quad-curved curved display. Also, they are thinner and lighter than their Reno11 predecessors and at the same time they are tougher than them too.


The Oppo Reno12 features a 6.7? OLED display with 1,080 x 2,412px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. That is similar to the previous model, though now the top and bottom edges are curved too, not just the sides.

Unlike the Reno11 models, these two feature Gorilla Glass protection on the front. The phone?s mid-frame is made out of die-cast aluminum alloy, which withstands compression much better, helping to reduce damage if you drop your phone on a hard surface. Something else the old models didn?t have was an IP rating, but the 12-series is water resistant (IP65). On top of that, the display works even if it and your fingers are wet.

You?d think that this ruggedness comes at the cost of bulk, but it?s the other way around ? the Reno12 measures 7.25mm thick and weighs 179g, while the Reno11 was 7.6mm and 184g.
