Two suspected “one chance” robbers arrested after pushing 20-year-old student out of moving vehicle in Calabar

The Cross River Police Command has arrested two suspected one chance robbers that pushed a 20-year-old nursing student out of a moving commercial bus in Calabar. The incident occurred at about 9:AM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, when the victim, identified as Goodness, boarded a mini bus operated by the suspects who posed as passengers. The spokesperson of the command, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the attackers dispossessed the victim of her Android phone and other valuables before forcefully pushing her out of the vehicle while it was still in motion. According to Akata, the bus driver halted the vehicle, raised an alarm, and pursued the fleeing suspects towards the Bogobiri axis, drawing the attention of residents and security operatives. Police officers responding to the distress call joined the chase and successfully apprehended two suspects identified as Leo Celestine, and Ndiana-Abasi William.  Stolen items, including the victims phone, were recovered from them. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to being members of the Vikings confraternity and admitted to operating a robbery scheme targeting unsuspecting commuters. The Cross River State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Leo Celestine (male, 25 years) and Ndiana-Abasi William (male, 30 years), in connection with an alleged case of cultism and robbery, popularly referred to as One Chance operations, following a robbery incident in Calabar, the statement read. "On the 16th of April, 2026, at about 0900hrs, the suspects, posing as passengers in a commercial mini bus, attacked one Goodness, F20 years, a student of the School of Nursing, Calabar.  "The suspects pushed the victim out of the moving vehicle after dispossessing her of her Android phone and other personal belongings. "The driver of the mini bus promptly stopped the vehicle, raised an alarm, and pursued the fleeing suspects towards the Bogobiri area. "Acting on the distress call, police operatives duty swiftly joined the pursuit and successfully apprehended the suspects. "The stolen Android phone and other valuables were recovered from the suspects. "During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of the Vikings Confraternity and admitted to specializing in robbing unsuspecting members of the public and selling stolen items to receivers within the metropolis. "Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate, including receivers of the stolen properties. The Command reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property and urges members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through the Commands Control Room numbers: 07041777060, 07053355415, or to the nearest police formation. The post Two suspected one chance robbers arrested after pushing 20-year-old student out of moving vehicle in Calabar appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
