Beyonce’s final show of her Formation World Tour featured plenty of surprises onstage, but backstage had plenty of moments as well. One in particular was the reunion of the original Murder Inc. crew – Jay Z, Ja Rule and DMX.

Thanks to DJ Khaled, he was able to make this epic reunion happen backstage at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Friday (Oct. 7). According to reports, Rule, Hov, and X shared a laugh and a long conversation.
If you don’t recall, back in 1999, music industry vet Irv Gotti came up with the idea to form a rap supergroup. At that time, Jay Z, Ja Rule and DMX were the three top rappers in the game.

The Murder Inc. buzz started with the classic XXL issue with the rap trifecta featured on the front cover and back of the magazine. They also released their collaborative songs, “Murdergram” and “It’s Murda.”
An album was supposed to be in the works. And then…nothing. According to Irv, egos and scheduling conflicts led to the kibosh on the whole rap supergroup idea.
On Saturday (Oct. 8), Irv posted a response to the now viral photo of the trio reuniting at Queen Bey’s Formation World Tour.

“When they all together like that, that s— be powerful,” he wrote on Instagram. “And to think what would have happened if we did that album. With me and swiss making the music. Scary. Would have been HIP HOP AT ITS FINEST.”
True indeed.

There were plenty of other rap superstars attending Beyonce’s final concert. Rappers T.I., Papoose and Remy Ma, Young M.A. and Fetty Wap were all in the building.
