I shook hands with the devil and conquered him - Nigerian woman opens up about her divorce journey

A Nigerian woman, Emerald Chizy, has opened up after finalising her divorce, bringing an end to a four-year legal battle.  In a series of Facebook posts on Wednesday, Emerald opened up about the emotional, financial and mental toll the divorce case took on her.  According to her, the case was marred by false accusations, threats, and harassment, with her ex-husband accusing her of sleeping with other men.  Despite remarrying during their separation, thereby committing bigamy, Emerald alleged that her ex vowed to frustrate her in court so she would drop the case. Reflecting on her marriage, which she described as Egypt, Emerald recalled looking like a 72-year-old woman while in her late 20s.  Married= 2014. Had the twins= 2016, she wrote. "Separated= 2019. Filed for divorce= 2022. Got divorced= 2026. "I was in and out of court for 4 years.I spent money that ran in millions. I fought a battle that put my life on the line.  "My mental health was a disaster, my finance almost crumbled. Out of care and concern, friends and family started discouraging me to give up the case. But I kwechiried, and God did. May God be praised. mydivorcejourney.  The post I shook hands with the devil and conquered him - Nigerian woman opens up about her divorce journey appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
