If you remember the film Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, you know the sort of problems that can arise when a family member is accidentally miniaturised. And that’s exactly what happens to writer Linda in this new series, when she’s sprayed with an experimental liquid that her scientist husband is working on.

The Miniature Wife is Matthew Macfadyen’s next television project after Succession and Death by Lightning. This time, the actor will play a careless scientist aiming for a Nobel Prize. He’ll be playing opposite a very small Elizabeth Banks, who you may remember for her role as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games.

The series will premiere on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

In the UK, The Miniature Wife will be available on Sky and streaming service Now, while US viewers can stream it on Peacock. The series consists of 10 episodes, all released on the same day.

What is the plot of The Miniature Wife?

The Sky series is based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales, from his anthology The Miniature Wife and Other Stories. The story follows a married couple, author Linda and scientist Les, whose lives are disrupted and their relationship put to the test.

Who will star in The Miniature Wife?

Elizabeth Banks, known for her roles in The Hunger Games film series and Charlie’s Angels, will play Linda Littlejohn. Her husband, Les, will be portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen, who rose to fame afterroles in Pride & Prejudice and Succession.
