US says ICE agents will only have advisory role at Winter Olympics in Italy

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit deployed to Italy for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics will not conduct patrols and will serve only in an advisory role, Washington’s ambassador said on Wednesday. The deployment has caused an outcry in Italy because of the Trump administration's often brutal crackdown on immigration in the US.
