Apple Has Officially Sold over 1 Billion iPhone Devices

It's quite surprising to hear this, but it looks like Apple has sold over 1 billion iPhone devices since the introduction of the smartphone that changed our lives as we knew it.

Last month, iPhone turned 9, and we're pretty sure that we've used almost all the versions that the Cupertino company has released since June 29, 2007. The fact of the matter is that we can't even believe it took so long for Apple to sell its billionth unit, but it happened sometime last week, according to Apple's CEO Tim Cook.

"Last week we passed another major milestone when we sold the billionth iPhone," said Tim Cook, Apple CEO. "We never set out to make the most, but we've always set out to make the best products that make a difference. Thank you to everyone at Apple for helping change the world every day."

iPhone sales are still going down
The news comes just one day after Apple published a press announcement revealing the financial results for its fiscal third quarter of 2016, where the Cupertino company shows that the iPhone sales are still going down, compared with the Q3 of 2015 and Q2 of 2016. However, Apple made over 6 billion in sales on its online services.

On this occasion, we would like to congratulate Apple for selling over 1 billion iPhone devices. We actually can't even imagine what our lives would have been like without the iPhone, as we think that it's one of the most advanced and well-done smartphones that were ever built. Thank you, Steve Jobs!

With this in mind, we are now looking forward to getting our hands on the next iPhone version, whose version number is yet to be revealed. At the time of writing this story, rumors say that the next iPhone might be called iPhone 6SE, but we still hope the Apple will debut the iPhone 7 with iOS 10 built-in.
