Our supplies were sourced from major oil Companies such as Total PLC, Uni-petrol PLC. (Now OandO), AP PLC. (Now Forte Oil), Mobil Nigeria PLC amongst others.
Objective
We seek to hire a diligent, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to join our Legal team.
Main Key Responsibilities
The Legal Officer will provide legal and compliance support across the company’s operations, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, mitigating legal risks, and assisting with legal drafting, contracts, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support in the provision of internal advisory services on legal matters related to the company’s operation.
Assist in dispute resolution and negotiations under supervision.
Support corporate activities to ensure conformity with the applicable laws.
Assist in preparing and monitoring company-wide compliance checklists.
Provide support in corporate, litigation and regulatory matters, including the regularization of annual returns with CAC, attending court proceedings, legal searches, and monitoring title perfection processes at applicable land registries.
Act as the liaison officer with external counsel to follow-up and ensure quick closure on litigations
Assist with contract lifecycle management, including preparation, drafting, vetting and negotiation of agreements.
Monitor and file completed contracts and other corporate documents.
Assist with the preparation of board resolutions, extracts of minutes, meeting schedules, and related documents.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of LL.B, BL degrees, with at least a Second Class (Upper Division).
8 years post-call experience, including 3 years in a law firm.
Oil & gas industry experience is an advantage.
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience engaging with relevant government, maritime, and local content agencies
Excellent relationship management and communication abilities for interactions with internal and external parties.
Proactive, with a high sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
