Ohanaeze Ndigbo, South-West Zone has said the Igbo will negotiate first before adopting a presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections.

Speaking during the zonal meeting of the organisation in Ibadan, Oyo State at the weekend, the President, Prince Uzoma, said the Igbos wish to know what the presidential candidates had for them before taking a stand.

Uzoma, who used the meeting to announce committees on politics, conflict resolution and education/scholarship scheme, said adoption of a candidate must not be done blindly.

According to him, ?Igbos must be integrated into the scheme of things in the country; so, we would opt for the candidate who would give us sense of belonging, recognise our contributions towards the development of the country and also allow a level-playing field?.

On why the Igbo would not be fielding presidential candidate for the election, he said the Igbo needed to put their house in order more than they needed the presidency, noting that the Igbo would contest in the 2019 presidential election.

The chairmen of the committees according to him include Political Committee, Emeka West; Conflict Resolution, Chief Ignatius Igweze and Education/Scholarship Scheme, Nnamdi Ikpeze.
