The Federal Polytechnic, Idah is founded on the Philosophy of "TECHNOLOGY FOR SELF RELIANCE". In other words, it is built to build job creators rather than job seekers. Since its establishment in 1977, the Polytechnic has been striving to keep faith with this vision with the view to meeting the aspirations and dreams of the founding fathers. The foregoing being a top priority, the Polytechnic is currently in another era of transformation with a six point plan of action: staff and student welfare and security, administrative and academic development; infrastructural development, pprudent management of financial resources and internal revenue generation.
The Polytechnic in History. The Federal Polytechnic, Idah is one of the seven Polytechnics established by the Federal Military Government under Decree No. 33 of July 1979. On Monday, 28th November, 1977, the Institution came to life with eleven (11) academic staff, nineteen (19) senior administrative members of staff, eighty-six (86) supporting members of staff as well as 220 pioneer students who were offered admission after a competive entrace examination.Requirements


Candidates must possess National Technical certificate obtained from a Government Technical College or any approved Institution or Government Trade Test Certificate Grade III plus a minimum of three (3)years experience in the relevant field.
