Tottenham Lose Maddison for 6-7 Months

Tottenham Hotspur star midfielder James Maddison will be out for a few months after picking up an ACL injury. Maddison got the injury during his team’s pre-season friendly match against Newcastle United last Sunday.

Maddison to Miss Out Most of 2025/26 Season After ACL Injury

The Englishman has been unlucky with injury,?  which saw him miss several matches, notably in the final part of last season. After getting enough rest in the summer, Maddison was expecting to have a positive start to the upcoming season, but it looks like bad luck has arrived again for the midfielder.

The former Leicester City man picked up a bad injury during his team’s latest friendly match against Newcastle United in Korea last Sunday. Maddison, who got into the pitch as a second-half substitute, only lasted for 10 minutes before leaving the match on a stretcher.

After further medical examination, Spurs revealed in a statement that Maddison suffered an ACL injury and will undergo surgery. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 28-year-old midfielder will be out for at least six to seven months.

Considering the long recovery process, Maddison will be missing most of this season and might not recover at 100% for this season. It’s certainly a major disappointment and a big blow for Tottenham fans, especially since they recently parted ways with their star player, Song Heung-Min, who moves to LAFC.
