Last March, Facebook was announcing the launch of its third-party apps platform for Facebook Messenger, the company's IM client. Yesterday, the company improved the Facebook Messenger for Business platform with two new features.

The first is the Messages integration, which is a feature that will allow Facebook Page owners to add a widget on their site, where users can get in contact with them via private messages.

Users won't be able to have full conversations inside this widget, but merely send the first message. From here on out, they can go to the Messenger.com website, the main Facebook website, or use the Messenger app on their mobile to continue the conversation.

The ability to send private messages to Facebook Pages is a recent addition to Facebook, the company having introduced it over the summer.

The second new feature the company added is the Events integration, which works just like the Messages feature. Business owners will be able to create events via their Facebook Page, and then embed these events on their websites (or other places).

Users can just click a single button inside these widgets and announce they'll attend the event, all without visiting the main Facebook portal. There's a live demo of this very same feature on Facebook's F8 Developer Conference website.
