Justin Bieber is currently promoting his new studio album, Purpose, and is not avoiding questions about his past and ex-girlfriends.

Bieber opened up about his relationship with Selena Gomez. The two dated on and off for three years.

During an interview with Us Weekly, the ?Where R U Now? singer explained that at the start of their relationships neither party knew what they were doing. ?I think we didn?t really know what we were doing. [We were] young and we kinda just invested too much of ourselves into each other.?

Bieber explained that despite the relationships ups and downs, he learned a lot that he is taking forward into the rest of his dating life. ?I learned a lot from the relationship. About life, how to treat women, what women want and need. I think a woman needs security. I think a woman needs to feel that security and know that nothing else matters. I learned that with her.?

He added that the two still talk. ?She?s my homey. We?re friends,? said Bieber. ?We don?t talk every day. But every now and then, she hits my phone up.?

Selena Gomez recently attended the Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2015 as a guest and a performer. During her red carpet appearance that she confirmed that she is dating but is currently single.
