The Last of Us has been renewed for season 3 ahead of season 2 premiere

In the spring of 2025, Max subscribers will be treated to one of the most anticipated shows of the year – season 2 of The Last of Us. After a wild first season, we’ve all been wondering what’s next for Ellie, Joel, and their friends trying to survive in a world overrun by zombie-like creatures.

The series’ second season, based on the game The Last of Us Part II, will take viewers deeper into the horrors of post-apocalyptic reality. It will also introduce several new characters. In the trailers promoting the show, you can spot Jeffrey Wright’s Isaac, Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby and Isabela Merced’s Dina. Of course, there are some appearances from the horrific infected as well.
