Ace broadcaster Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, has added her voice to the ongoing public debate surrounding the marriage of Nollywood actress Annie Idibia and legendary musician Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia.

In a thought-provoking commentary, Atanda-Owo delved into the complexities of relationships, emphasizing self-worth, love, and sacrifice while urging women to prioritize self-love over societal pressures.

Speaking candidly via her Instagram, Atanda-Owo reflected on Annie’s enduring commitment to her husband despite numerous challenges.

“The foundation of both of them determines the future,” she said, noting that Annie stood by 2Baba through his rise in the music industry and even after he fathered children with other women.

“She stayed even when he continued seeing his baby mama. Love is not a crime, but women should start placing themselves above men in relationships.”

Atanda-Owo expressed empathy for Annie’s resilience but stressed the importance of emotional and mental well-being for women.

“What Annie tolerated, accommodated, and endured, most men can never handle a fraction of it. Imagine if another man even touches your wife by the waist – some marriages would collapse immediately.”

She also commended 2Baba’s composure amid the drama, noting his reluctance to air their private matters online.

“We don’t know the full picture or what’s going through his mind. But I commend him for keeping his cool and not rushing to social media to spill details. This shows a level of maturity, even though he is the genesis of these challenges.”

Atanda-Owo criticized the toxic culture of online judgment, where social media often turns personal struggles into public entertainment.

“Social media instantly turned their pain into a circus, with people casting blame, criticizing, and even laying curses. What happened to hearing from the parties involved before fueling the frenzy?”
