The Lagos State government on Wednesday confirmed the death of a COVID-19 patient in the state.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, Commissioner of Health in the state disclosed that the deceased was a 66-year-old Briton who recently returned from India.

In a series of tweets, Abayomi wrote on his official Twitter page: “Lagos recorded another COVID-19 related death; a 66-year-old Briton who travelled from India via Dubai to Lagos on 17th of March 2020.

“Let’s stay home and stay safe to stop the spread of COVID-19 infection for a greater Lagos.”

Lagos had last week confirmed their first COVID-19 related death.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria is 254, according to NCDC.
