A bomb explosion has ripped through a popular market in Kano, killing scores of persons and wounding several others.

 The explosive was said to have been planted at a crowded motor park known as Falil Parking, close to a market along the Ibrahim Taiwo Road in the city.

The bomb reportedly went off around 3.00pm.
