The Federal Government has claimed on Thursday that it has set a new record of generating the highest amount of electricity in Nigeria's history. This was made known by Minister of State for Power, Mr. Mohammed Wakil when he stated that Government has been able to generate 4,600 megawatts of electricity.

Before Thursday?s announcement, the country?s highest peak generated power was recorded on December 23, 2012 at 4,517.6MW.
