EFCC - Recovers $11 Billion in 11 Years

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday said it has recovered $11 billion being proceeds of financial crimes since its inception in 2003.

The spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren made this known in Abuja at an interactive session with Journalists organized by the Forum of Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies (FOSSRA) and I-Nigeria Initiative.

Uwujaren said: "In terms of assets recovery, we have recovered assets of well over $11 billion in 11 years and I think that is a record."
He also said apart from the numerous convictions it has obtained in courts across the country; the Commission has arraigned over 40 suspects in fuel subsidy related matters...
