Lead, Energy Management Accounting at Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited (NESCO)

Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited [NESCO (Nigeria) Limited] is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Nigeria. Its core business is to generate, distribute, supply and retail electric power in Plateau State and adjacent States.Purpose of the Job


Oversee financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning for energy consumption, pricing, and efficiency, while ensuring cost optimisation, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making


Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Lead Energy Management Accounting shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:


Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for the expansion
Analyze energy consumption and production data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency
Support tariff and pricing decisions by providing detailed financial analysis and projections
Oversee financial reporting for energy projects and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
Develop and oversee the strategic framework for the energy management accounting unit to ensure alignment with corporate goals
Provide leadership in the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to energy production and distribution
Lead the evaluation of financial impacts of pricing strategies, and sustainability initiatives
Collaborate with senior management to inform decision-making on energy assets, tariffs, and investments
Oversee the implementation of internal controls and risk management practices within the energy management accounting unit
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Mentor and provide guidance to subordinates within the unit


Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge


First Degree (B.Sc., HND) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related discipline
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAN are advantageous
5-7 years relevant experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

Knowledge of planning, budgeting, and forecasting
In-depth knowledge of accounting policies and transactions
Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
Communication and interpersonal relations
Supervisory and leadership abilities
Business-oriented mindset with a focus on cost optimization and strategic decision-making
