John Terry Set to leave Chelsea in January

Former England international John Terry could end his long-term association with Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window. The centre-back has fallen out-of-favour under Antonio Conte this season.

The 36-year-old became as a regular at the start of the campaign before he sustained a ligament injury in the 2-2 against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Since then, the veteran has struggled to regain a starting spot in the league with Conte content to play Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill at the back in a 3-4-3 formation.

According to The Sun, the centre-half could be permitted to leave Stamford Bridge for a Bosman in January due to his commitment towards the Blues over the years.

Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua are currently the leading candidates to pursue his signature with former Blues teammate Gus Poyet prepared to offer a bumper £11.9m wage package to lure Terry to the Far East.

Terry is also the subject of interest from Shanghai SIPG, who are managed by ex-Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas.
