Facebook has partnered with PayPal in order to enhance the payment experience of users through the Messenger application. It seems that users from the U.S. will be able to make payments using PayPal directly in the Messenger app.

Users will be able to link their PayPal accounts to Facebook and Messenger at PayPal checkout. Notifications will also be provided in Messenger, which will make it easier to manage receipts for PayPal transactions in one place.

But there are many advantages for merchants as well, as they are able to build a closer relationship with the 192 million PayPal users worldwide. Merchants will also be able to accept these types of payments directly in their bots.

Bill Ready, EVP, Chief Operating Officer at PayPal, has stated that the company will continue to help businesses sell products directly from the Shop section of their Facebook page.

“Our focus on partnering with innovative companies to create better experiences for merchants and consumers remains strong. Over the last few months we have announced deals with Visa, MasterCard, Telcel and Claro, Vodafone and Alibaba, in our bid to drive broader customer choice in payments through partnership,” he added.

Earlier this year, Facebook announced that it added multiple tools and features for developers and businesses to create bots. Users would be able to provide star ratings and text feedback for bot developers. In addition, Facebook recently introduced Marketplace, a new section for users to buy and sell various items.
