"Our government is f*cked" Student laments after Benue government allegedly said 50 buses were sent to convey students home only to leave many stranded

A student has refereed to Thursday,  April 2, as one of the worst days of his life after he tried and failed to leave Jos. According to Sufi Calamari, he and other students from Benue State were allegedly informed that 50 buses had been sent by the Benue State Government to convey Benue students out of Jos after at least 28 people were k!lled in the area by bandits on Palm Sunday. Sufi went on to narrate how he and other students presented themselves to be evacuated from Jos and how he ended up disappointed. Narrating his y, he wrote: "Today is one of the worse days of my life. With everything going on in Jos, yesterday they posted on our group chat committee of Tiv students CTS. That the governor of Benue State sent over 50 buses and 100 security guards to convey Benue state students safely back to Benue state. "I was really excited seeing that message yesterday, students were really happy. '50 buses? That will be enough to take us home'. "I woke to messages from OLAMIDE FELIX with excitement telling me 'your governor has sent buses to take you home' then before I could blink ZEYEANI sent another message 'good afternoon hope the buses came for you guys?' "She was worried sick. "They said as early as 6am we should be ready for the buses that will convey us home. I swear to God I never wanted to go I had that feeling that this thing will not end well, but I was convinced by my father. I decided I will go because he was worried at least being close to him will make him feel better. "As early as 6am I had my bath took few of my cloths and headed to the junction I was at the junction at exactly 6:20 I and other students stood there for complete 3hrs then the buses later came, funny they werent up to 50 like they promised. I said well since Im here let me find my way in one. "I struggled and entered they now took us to a police barracks here in Plateau state, we wasted over one hour there, doing nothing soon the drivers got a call that, they should go and pick other students. Omo how many buses did the Benue state governor send us? 8 buses out of 500 buses at Benue links park. "Once I saw those 8 buses I knew that Omo not everyone is leaving. Thats how they went and brought other students, the barracks was full, how 8 buses wan take carry this people. "We waited and waited, till 2:00 pm the few police men that were sent to take us home. Started shouting they have not eaten they are hungry we are wasting their time bla bla. "Thats how they did, later made up a story here and there and took few students home and left some of us at the park, oya find a bus to take us back to school the so called police didnt care. At 5pm in Jos plateau state they told students who were safe where they were to find their way home. "I laughed, what can I do? I stated walking home praying to God that nothing should happen to me, thankfully he sent some people who helped me back to Angwan rukuba safely. Our government is f*cked." The post "Our government is f*cked" Student laments after Benue government allegedly said 50 buses were sent to convey students home only to leave many stranded appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
