The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will embark on nationwide Sensitisation campaign to curb the abuse of Nigeria’s currencies.
The NOA Director in Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Danchadi, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Saturday.

“The nation’s currencies are part of our national symbols and it is regrettable that they are grossly abused in a myriad of obnoxious ways.

”These include mutilating them and spraying them during ceremonies, thereby marching on them.

”These also include putting them in parts of the body where they are not supposed to be kept,” he said.

The NOA Director further said that the currencies should be patriotically respected by both Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike.

According to him, all Nigerians must respect the currencies because they are part our national symbols.

He said the joint campaign by NOA and the apex bank was therefore to urgently reverse the ugly trend.
