U.S. Troops kill ISIS leader connected to Paris attacks

Officials have said that in addition to killing several key figures within the terrorist organization ISIS over the past few days, forces have also killed an ISIS leader connected to the Paris attacks.

CNN noted that the Pentagon said Tuesday that 10 senior operatives in Iraq and Syria have been killed. Moreover, Charaffe al Mouadan, a Syrian-based member of ISIS with a ?direct link? to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who was tied to the terror attacks in Paris last month, was also killed in the airstrikes.



Abaaoud was killed by police in raid outside of Paris a few days after the horrific attacks.

Col. Steve Warren said that al Mouadan was killed on Dec. 24 and was ?actively planning additional attacks against the West? prior to his death.

Airstrikes on ISIS really picked up after sites in and around the French capital were attacked on Nov. 13. More than 120 people died in the attacks.

While the death of al Mouadan may not deliver that huge of a blow to ISIS as a whole, officials know that the group will ?lose some of their synergy? if its middle and upper management continues to be taken out.
