U.S. President, Donald Trump vowed to prevail in his ongoing conflict with Harvard University and once again threatened to strip billions in funding from the institution. I am considering taking three billion dollars of grant money away from a very antisemitic Harvard and giving it to trade schools all across our land, Trump wrote in a post on Memorial Day. He did not provide further details. Trump also raised the issue of removing foreign students from Harvarda major component of the universitys enrollment and tuition revenue. He stated he is waiting for the university to provide a list of its international students, saying it is necessary to determine how many radicalised lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our country, after what he described as a ridiculous expenditure of billions of dollars.But have no fear, the government will, in the end, win! he added. Last week, the administration attempted to block Harvard from enrolling foreign students, but a judge suspended the order pending a hearing this week. Trumps anger with Harvard stems from the universitys rejection of federal oversight on admissions and hiring. He has accused the institution of fostering anti-Semitism and promoting liberal ideologies. The presidents criticism of Harvard is part of a broader campaign targeting universities, media organisations, and other institutions he considers left-leaning centres of influence. As part of the dispute, the administration has placed $9 billion in government funding under review, frozen an initial $2.2 billion in grants, and paused $60 million in federal contracts.
