NotebookLM makes its Android debut, complete with Audio Overviews (Update: Official)

• NotebookLM debuted in 2023 as an experimental research tool.


• Last year Google upgraded the tool with its “virtual podcast” Audio Overviews.


• We’ve been expecting NotebookLM apps for a couple months now, and today the Android release arrives early.

Update, May 19, 2025 (05:03 PM ET): In the hours since we spotted NotebookLM hitting the Play Store a little ahead of schedule, Google has gone ahead and formally announced the app’s availability. In addition to the Android version we saw earlier today, the iOS edition is now similarly available for iPhone and iPad users.
