The Naira recorded two consecutive appreciations against the Dollar in the foreign exchange Market this week.

FMDQ data showed that the Naira appreciated further to N1601 per dollar on Tuesday from N1607.15 exchanged the previous day.

This represents a N6.15 gain against the dollar on Tuesday compared to the N1607.15 traded on Monday.

Similarly, the Naira strengthened at the black market. It exchanged at N1607 per dollar on Tuesday from N1610.

The Nigerian currency had on Monday recorded a significant gain.

The two consecutive appreciations of the Naira come despite ongoing hunger protests which commenced last week Thursday and entered day 6 on Tuesday.
