It looks like X did all he could to avoid giving it to the IRS.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in NYC has hit DMX with 14 counts of tax evasion, and say the Ruff Ryder has been engaged in a multi-year scheme to underreport his income.

The Feds allege he did so by avoiding using personal bank accounts, using the accounts of surrogates and mostly living on cash.

For example, he was paid 125K for being on Couples Therapy. But when he got the check with taxes withheld he demanded the producers rip it up and pay him the full amount, and then never reported it to the IRS.

DMX didn’t report any income at all in 2011 and 2012, whereas the feds have him making $353k and $542k. He reported 10K in 2013, but the Feds say it was really 250K. All in all, he owes $1.7 million.

X turned himself in today and is facing 44 years on the charges.
