Aldi’s £34.99 Dyson-dupe bladeless fan is back

The muggy heat of the last couple of days is a sign of things to come, with another heatwave expected after the weekend. So you might want to add a fan to your weekly shopping list. If you’re on a budget, there’s no better bargain than this one.

Aldi’s bladeless fan is back. Its design is a little different from last year’s model, which you can see below, and more like a Dyson.

You can’t buy it online, but it’s already in shops. However, if you do want to buy a fan online, right now, we’ve got plenty of recommended options in our round-up of the best fans we’ve tested.

Some of the Aldi fan’s features would make it ideal for a kid’s bedroom. The first is its bladeless design, which means it’s safe to leave in a room with a little one – or even around inquisitive pets.

It also has an LED light ring with different colour options, so it can be used as a night light. And it’s quiet as well.

It has ten speed settings and you can set it to swivel to reach a wider area. You can control it from the on-device digital touchpad or via the included remote.

But if a regular fan won’t cut it, and an air conditioner is too expensive, there is a middle option: an air cooler.

Air coolers are much more effective than fans as they actually lower the temperature of the air, using evaporative cooling technology, rather than just circulating it. All you need to do is fill the reservoir with cold water or ice (depending on the model) and it’ll blow out chilled air.

One note of caution is that a model like this one, which features a tank of water sitting in an electrical appliance, should only be used under supervision and not within reach of pets or children. This is not one to put in a child’s bedroom.
