Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra public appearance adds colour to rumours

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 leaks just keep on coming, this time in the shape of real out-in-the-wild shots of the so-called Ultra model.

We’re just over a month out from Samsung’s next big Unpacked event, and very little remains a mystery concerning its big foldable refresh.

Now X user Farhad Ali Jawed has posted images and footage of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (which could be the name of the follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7) being used out and about.

There isn’t too much to note about the design of the phone itself, aside from the presence of what could be slightly thinner screen bezels.

Arguably more interesting is the provision of the device’s wallpapers, offering us a sneak peek at what we’ll be gawping at when we first boot up one of Samsung’s new foldable phones.

Until we all switch over to the usual picture of our dog/partner/favourite Ninja Turtle, at least (it’s Raphael, thanks for asking).

As SamMobile points out, these generic wallpapers showcase a series of four interactive wave patterns, each with their own colour theme and shaped like the number eight,� which obviously requires no explanation.

Talking of colours, journalist and tipster Roland Quandt has taken to Bluesky to claim that the hero colour for the three-strong foldable 8-series will be “a lavender/violet kinda color”.

There’s definitely a slightly pinky/mauvish tone to each of these wallpaper colours, which might well reflect that. It follows on from the Galaxy S26 series’ Cobalt Violet, so it may be similar or even the same.
