Customer k!lled, manager and female attendant kidnapped as bandits attack relaxation spot in Kogi

Suspected bandits have reportedly invaded Aluta Bar Relaxation in Oke-Ijumu, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, k!lling one customer and abducting two of its staff. According to Daily Trust, the assailants stormed the relaxation spot on Saturday night, June 6, 2026, opened fire and k!lled a customer, with some sustaining varying degrees of injuries. In the melee that followed, the hoodlums allegedly kidnapped two people suspected to be the bar manager and a female sales attendant. Eyewitnesses disclosed further that security operatives who responded to the distress call arrived at the scene of the incident shortly after the assailants had fled. The Kogi State Government confirmed the attack in a press statement, stressing that the operatives engaged the invaders in a fierce gun battle, which forced them to abandon their mission and retreat into nearby forests. According to the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, security agencies have intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of the abducted victims. The prompt and coordinated response by the Nigerian Military, Police, Kogi State Vigilante Service, and local hunters prevented what could have escalated into a major security disaster," Fanwo said in a statement on Monday.  Intelligence reports indicate several of the attackers sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange of fire before fleeing the area. One member of the Tiv community lost his life during the crossfire, while another victim sustained gunshot injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment."  Meanwhile, the state government urged residents to support ongoing security operations by promptly reporting individuals with suspicious gunshot wounds or anyone seeking treatment for firearm-related injuries. The post Customer k!lled, manager and female attendant kidnapped as bandits attack relaxation spot in Kogi appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
