Woman accused of locking sister-in-law in basement for 2 years

A Michigan woman was arrested and charged after police said she held her sister-in-law captive in a basement for two years.  Tash Beamon, 48, is charged with unlawful imprisonment and vulnerable adult abuse.  Police say she was acting as a caretaker for her 58-year-old sister-in-law, who is a vulnerable adult, but kept the woman locked in her basement, where she was given minimal access to food, water, a bathroom and a shower. The police said that, on March 15, 2026, the victim escaped the basement and went to a nearby home where she broke a window, hoping someone inside would call 911 for help.  When police arrived, she told them she had been held against her will; she was then taken to a hospital for medical care. Charges were authorized against Beamon on April 2.  She was arrested and booked into the Saginaw County Jail.  The post Woman accused of locking sister-in-law in basement for 2 years appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
