Maintenance & Repairs Coordinator at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services

Job description

The position holder will be responsible for the following:


Supervising maintenance & repair of ZIM equipment.
Reviewing & approving repair estimates by MNR vendors.
Considering evacuation & total loss declarations of damaged equipment
Handling 3rd party recovery of cargo/ handling related damages.
Extract reports, repair estimates and visit service providers
Convey technical instructions and professional policies to the countries and follow their execution.
Final approval of work procedures, contract, specs, service processes, rate sheets of service providers
Repair approvals of containers in the Africa region based on the repair limit set by Global M&R Dep.
Control and follow up on regional M&R expenses.
Constant negotiation and opportunity seeking for rate reductions
Assistance in annual M&R budget preparation.
Monthly reporting of regional M&R KPI and performance.
Scale-in and scale-out of on-hire/off hire containers
Work with local offices/agent on container sales activities.


Requirements:


First degree in in maritime, shipping, or related disciplines.
Between 5-8 years prior experience in similar capacity.
Strong relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good command of written and spoken in English.
Proficiency in MS Office.
