Blackouts and brownouts are a fact of modern life. Getting by with candles and patience has its charms, but extended blackouts that last hours or even days are real problems, especially in warm weather. Sitting in the dark and sweating while all the expensive food in your fridge goes bad is no fun.

It’s not the easiest generator to haul around—the wheels are no-flat and it rolls pretty easily, but heaving this thing into a truck or car isn’t easy. In other words, it's movable, not ideal for portable needs. But as a whole-house backup generator it combines power with ease of use.
