He?s still on life support, his condition is deteriorating
Former NBA star Lamar Odom, who reached celebrity status after he married reality star Khloe Kardashian in 2009, is in a coma and on life support at a hospital in Las Vegas, after an accidental overdose.

Khloe is by his side, having flown there from LA, on a private jet, within hours of his hospitalization. In such cases, only family members are allowed in, and even though Khloe and Lamar signed the divorce papers, they?re still legally married.

Khloe filed the divorce papers in December 2013, after almost 2 years of trying to get him to accept that he had a drug problem for which he needed rehab. The divorce dragged on for months afterwards: they had an iron-clad prenup, but Lamar refused to give Khloe the divorce or file his own documents.

From what he told the media, he still hoped he and Khloe would find a way to stay together. When he understood that was no longer a possibility, he signed off on the divorce.

TMZ says that, while both signed the papers, the divorce is yet to go through because ?there is an extreme backlog in the family law courts? in Los Angeles, which means it will take another 2 months for it to become final.

In turn, this means that, as Lamar?s wife, Khloe gets to make all the decisions about the care he?s receiving right now in the hospital.
