Gabon prepares for first presidential election since 2023 coup, interim president expected to win

The Gabonese population will head to the polls on Saturday, 12 April, for the first time since the 2023 military coup that ended the 50-year reign of the Bongo dynasty. Current interim president Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema is widely expected to win.
