Laboratory Technogist - Consultancy

Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Testing and Analysis:
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests related to wellness programs, including blood work, urine analysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
Maintain accurate records of test results and patient information.
Ensure all lab equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Adhere to strict protocols for sample collection, handling, and analysis.
Community and corporate Engagement and Support:
Participate in wellness activities and health fairs in various towns, and offices, providing on-site support for lab testing and health screenings.
Educate community members on wellness topics, including preventive health measures and the importance of regular health check-ups.
Collaborate with local health professionals and organizations to promote wellness initiatives and improve community health outcomes.
Data Management and Reporting:
Compile and analyze data from laboratory tests and wellness activities.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, trends, and program outcomes.
Ensure confidentiality and security of patient data in accordance with relevant regulations.
Operational Support:
Assist in the setup and breakdown of lab stations and wellness activity sites.
Manage inventory of lab supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage.
Travel to various towns as required, often on short notice, to support wellness programs.
Compliance and Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures for handling hazardous materials and biological specimens.
Stay updated on best practices and advancements in laboratory technology and wellness programs.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor?s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting. Experience with community health initiatives is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in various locations and conditions.
Certifications: Valid certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria) is preferred.
This will be a 3 month consultancy that will involve traveling in different towns in Nigeria to undertake the wellness/outreach program themed *Wellness on Wheels in communities and corporates.
