He was a very young Army officer in charge of intelligence gathering during the Major Gideon Orkar's coup of April 22, 1990. Captain Sowaribi Victor Tolofari was detailed to gather intelligence in the Ojo Military Cantonment for the successful operation of the coup. The coup failed and he escaped through a boat to Gabon from where he went to Europe. He returned to Nigeria after 12 years in self-exile. In this interview with our Senior Correspondent, DANIEL ABIA, Tolofari opened up on that coup, its implications to the the Niger Delta region, and the Goodluck Jonathan presidency, among others.
