Prime Day is June 23 to 26, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools before it's over.

A travel router sounds unnecessary until you run into unreliable hotel wifi, device limits, or a public network you’d rather not use. The TP-Link Roam 6 is built for exactly those situations, and it's currently on sale for $49.99, down from its usual $59.99 price. According to price trackers, this is the lowest price the Roam 6 has reached so far. It's also one of the more useful travel-tech deals we've spotted for Prime Day 2026, and we're tracking more discounts and buying advice in our ongoing coverage.

While the Roam 6 supports Wi-Fi 6 and speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps, its biggest advantage is its convenience. Instead of connecting every device individually to a hotel or rental property's network, the router can create a private network so everything connects through a single login. That's particularly useful in hotels that limit the number of devices you can connect. Built-in VPN support adds another layer of appeal, allowing you to route traffic through a VPN directly from the router while using public wifi. It also supports USB tethering, so you can share your phone's cellular connection when the local internet is slow or unavailable.

As for its port selection, it's fairly basic: A USB-C port handles power and tethering duties, while two Ethernet ports provide wired connections for devices that benefit from a more stable connection. It's also not designed to replace a traditional home router, so for people who only travel occasionally, this might be overkill. But for frequent travelers, remote workers, and digital nomads, the Roam 6 can be surprisingly useful—it lets you create your own private wifi network on the road, connect multiple devices through a single hotel login, use a VPN more easily, and even share a phone's cellular connection when local internet isn't reliable. In other words, it gives you more control over your internet connection instead of relying entirely on whatever network happens to be available.

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy run Prime Day-style sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.
