Gwagwalada Legislative Council speaker and his aide d!e in road accident

The Speaker of the Gwagwalada Area Council. Legislative Arm, Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Ibwa and his aide, Ibrahim Ibwa, have d!ed in a motor accident at Sheda village along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.It was gathered that the Speaker d!ed in the early hours of Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where he was referred after initially receiving treatment at Legend Hospital in Gwagwalada. His aide reportedly d!ed on the spot.An eyewitness said the accident occurred around 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday and involved a head-on collision between a Mercedes-Benz car and a Sino truck at Sheda village.According to the witness, three persons were travelling in the Mercedes-Benz when the crash occurred. The third person is said to be currently receiving medical attention.An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who participated in the rescue operation and spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident. He said one victim died at the scene, while two others, including the Speaker, were taken to the hospital.The FRSC official added that the corpse of the deceased was deposited at Legend Hospital mortuary in Gwagwalada.Further findings revealed that the Speaker and his aides were returning to Gwagwalada from Kwali after attending a political meeting when their vehicle collided head-on with a trailer coming from the opposite direction near Sheda village.The remains of the late Speaker were later buried according to Islamic rites in his Ibwa community in Gwagwalada Area Council.Dignitaries at the burial included the chairman-elect of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon.
