Assistant manager of Wales, Osian Roberts, has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson is still reeling from his failure to sign Aaron Ramsey for Manchester United.

The former Red Devils boss and Arsene Wenger went toe-to-toe for the midfielder?s signature, with the Frenchman luring Ramsey to the Emirates in 2008.

Ferguson met with Wales boss Chris Coleman and Roberts last week the FIFA World Cup 2014 debrief among the world?s best coaches and still asked about the former Cardiff player.

?He had a strong interest in how Aaron is doing because he was very close to signing him,? Roberts said.

?He probably looks at it now as one that he lost out on and got away from him.

?It was really nice that he spoke about Aaron.?
